Aliakbar Daemi uses geometrical tools provided by gauge theory to study low dimensional objects.
Daemi's interests include gauge theory, low-dimensional topology, and symplectic geometry. After earning his doctorate from Harvard University, he served as a research assistant professor at Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University. Before joining the Washington University faculty, he was a visiting assistant professor at Columbia University. His work is supported by the National Science Foundation.
