Megan Peabody

Assistant Dean of Advising, College of Arts & Sciences

Megan Peabody is an assistant dean of advising in the College of Arts & Sciences. She earned a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University,  a master's degree from Northern Illinois University, and a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After many years as an English professor and academic administrator, she joined WashU and the College Office to serve as a four-year, pre-law, and fellowship advisor. A fan of wild imaginations and big dreams, her favorite part of advising is helping students welcome creative thinking and intellectual curiosity: both can stoke a sense of personal fulfillment while also driving academic achievement, so what better time to be unbridled and brave?

When not hatching plans with colleagues or laughing (often too loudly) with students, she spends her time snobbishly analyzing music, watching old episodes of Jeopardy!, starting craft projects she knows she’ll never finish, and enjoying the many vegetarian options the St. Louis restaurant scene provides.
