Diana José-Edwards (she/her) is the Assistant Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR), where she oversees and manages programs, activities, and personnel to create opportunities for undergraduates to develop their capacity for inquiry through research and creative practice. Although Diana collaborates with various stakeholders, her favorite part of the job is witnessing students grow through the multifaceted learning experience that undergraduate research provides.
With nearly 10 years at WashU, Diana brings extensive experience in program development and project management from her previous roles. She describes herself as creatively conscientious, adept at balancing innovative thinking with a meticulous approach to her responsibilities. Diana's passion for her work is deeply rooted in her own transformative academic experiences. She earned a BA in Biochemistry from Barnard College and completed her PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology at Cornell University’s Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences.
A native of Queens, New York, Diana is still on the hunt for a decent bagel in St. Louis. In her free time, she enjoys starting craft projects she may never finish and spending time with her family: John, Alê, and Pepino.
