Brooke Taylor

Assistant Dean of Advising, College of Arts & Sciences

As an assistant dean, Brooke works with Arts & Sciences undergraduates as a four-year advisor and offers guidance to any WashU student interested in applying for external fellowships & scholarships.

Brooke grew up in a small town in southwest Missouri. After college, she moved to St. Louis for graduate school and somehow never left.  She completed a PhD program in English literature at Washington University, where she spent countless hours reading Victorian novels—especially the weird, gothic ones. She taught for several years as an English professor before returning to WashU in this advising role, where she especially enjoys being an advocate and ally for students applying for competitive fellowships or discerning their path in life (or both!).

She and her partner live in St. Louis County with three daughters and two dogs. She loves black coffee, thrift shopping, and mystery novels with strong female protagonists.
