Junior Jumpstart is an annual conference with a significant presence on campus every May. The conference initiates the final stages of the academic journey, as students rise up into their final year at WashU. Juniors have the opportunity to engage with recent alumni, field experts, and leaders to learn how to transition through life after graduation.
During the pandemic, the conference shifted to a remote-learning format, but 2023 Junior Jumpstart is slated to take place in-person on Thursday, May 11.
Organizing this conference is no small feat. A planning committee — consisting of deans, directors, and advisors from across campus — collaborate all year to plan event programs, coordinate logistics, market Junior Jumpstart, and more. Student perspective is indispensable to assure a dynamic, relevant, and effective conference.
For the Class of 2024, the Junior Jumpstart committee enthusiastically welcomes Becky Sun to serve on the planning committee and be the official Junior Jumpstart Ambassador! Read below for more information about your Ambassador as she embarks on engaging her fellow juniors throughout the upcoming semester.
Becky Sun
Becky Sun is a junior Olin Business student from Shanghai majoring in finance and accounting and minoring in music. She is involved in several campus organizations, including the Student Investment Fund and the China Business Association. She has also been the timpani player in the symphony orchestra and a piano tutor. Becky has organized community-wide events such as charity runs and education conferences. In fall 2022, she studied and interned abroad in London, where she worked with youth organizations serving students from 15 countries.
