We are the College, and we're here for you.
The College Office is home to the people who make the College of Arts & Sciences hum. We are educational leaders, advisors, analysts, and coordinators dedicated to helping you achieve a life of personal meaning and purpose through a liberal arts education.
Led by Vice Dean Erin McGlothlin, we oversee academic advising; host Drop-in Advising hours for urgent questions; administer College-level policies; and house the office of the College Registrar.
We also coordinate signature academic events and programs that guide you from first year through graduation, including the First-Year Summer Academic Program, Major-Minor Fair, Junior Jumpstart, the Arts & Sciences Recognition Ceremony at graduation, and much more.
Discover the ArtSci difference as we work with you to help you explore your interests, discover your options, make plans, reflect on your experience, and create your academic and professional pathway at WashU and beyond. Every student is an individual to us, and we pledge to get to know you by name and by story.
Our Mission
The College of Arts & Sciences celebrates the joy of discovery and the exercise of critical thought in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
Advancing the values of a liberal arts education, we affirm that a full life is an intellectual, moral, and creative endeavor of meaning and purpose. Our goal is to develop our students by fostering resolve and adaptability, self-reliance and collaborative effort, humility and courage, a sense of tradition and a spirit of innovation.
We strive to create and maintain a diverse, supportive, and respectful collegiate community by encouraging lasting connections among students, faculty, and staff.
Together, committed to both leadership and service, we work each day to further our pursuit of strength through truth--per veritatem vis.
