Anthony gives voice lessons for the music department.
Anthony Heinemann, tenor, is a proud alumnus of Washington University in St Louis where he received his Master in Music degree in 2012. After graduating Anthony successfully competed in the Kurt Weill Foundation’s prestigious Lotte Lenya Competition.He advanced to the final round in 2015 and coached with Broadway legends Rebecca Luker, Ted Chapin, Andy Einhorn, Victoria Clark, and Lisa Vroman. Opera News asserts that “No vocal contest better targets today’s total-package talents.”
Anthony has performed throughout the country, most recently as a Young Artist with Charlottesville Opera. There he covered the role of Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte and was the Professor in South Pacific. In 2013 and 2015 Anthony toured the Midwest with Opera for the Young (Tamino; The Magic Flute, Almaviva: The Barber of Seville). He also sang with Muddy River Opera as part of their mainstage Marriage of Figaro (Curzio) and in their outreach performances.
In St Louis has sung principal roles with Union Avenue Opera (Ralph Rackstraw: H.M.S. Pinafore, Mayor Upfold: Albert Herring) as well as Winter Opera (Savonarola: Borgia Infami, Spoletta: Tosca). Last year he made his company debut with Mustard Seed Theatre in the ensemble of All is Calm. In 2018 he joined the roster of the St Louis Actor’s Studio in their production of The Dresser. He has worked with several other St Louis organizations including Gateway Opera, The St Louis Symphony, The Bach Society of St Louis, The American Kantorei and Dance St Louis. Anthony currently leads the tenor section at the First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood.
