Mayela Zambrano is a linguist with a passion for understanding languages and communication. Her career has been focused on the study of languages from different perspectives, from micro aspects of language that include the semantics of a word, syntactic constructions or the phonology of a consonant, to macro aspects of language that take into consideration larger socioeconomic and pragmatic contexts in which language is spoken. She uses empirical methods for data collection that allow her to explore linguistic variables and their relationship to social context. In addition, she is also a State and Federally certified Court Interpreter and a sworn translator.
